A central principle of Parkleys is communal management by the residents themselves. Parkleys is “the first example of the system of residents’ management companies set up by Span which has kept most of their developments in such exceptional condition” (Department of Culture, Media and Sport, 1998).
Our communal management company is called Parkleys Residents Society (PRS) Ltd.
PRS is a cooperative society, which means that it’s run for the mutual benefit of its members. Every member contributes equally and has an equal say.
In line with the cooperative values of self-help and self-responsibility, residents are encouraged to become involved in the running of the estate and joining its committee which takes care of the estate’s key responsibilities. Serving on the committee or supporting it in other ways can be a very interesting and enjoyable way to get to know the estate and its community.
